Caster Concepts Inc., a manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial casters, wheels and rigs, has unveiled the Swivel on Swivel (SoS) Caster, which significantly reduces operator fatigue through a design that features two kingpinless, maintenance free swivel section rigs.

The Swivel on Swivel Caster is the latest addition to the Caster Concepts line of ergonomic products designed to reduce the risk of workplace injuries, while increasing productivity and efficiency.

“The Swivel on Swivel Caster is the most cutting-edge caster on the market,” said Dr. William Dobbins, president and CEO of Caster Concepts. SoS reduces the amount of force needed to turn and maneuver a cart, and to start rolling a cart when all the wheels are not parallel, he added.

“The amount of force needed to initiate cart movement can cause a lot of stress on the body. Over time, the force needed to move heavy carts can have a lasting effect on muscles and bones,” said Dobbins, a retired physician.

Caster Concepts‘ field tests determined that the SoS Caster reduces operator push force by almost 40% compared to conventional swivel section rigs.

By reducing the push force, the caster will help reduce the risk of injuries from over-exertion due to pushing and pulling.
