18 Rough Terrain Container Handlers for Department of Defense

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order to supply a further 18 rough terrain container handlers to the United States Department of Defense. Destined to replace older equipment, the Kalmar RT240s will be delivered to multiple locations across the United States by the end of the year. The total value of the order is approximately $18 million.

The Kalmar RT240 provides exceptional performance and is able to handle containerized loads of up to 53,000 pounds across all types of terrain.

KRTC has been producing rough terrain handlers since 2009 and currently has three assembly lines focusing on container handlers and forklift trucks. The center employs approximately 170 people.
