Span-Guard Launches with Former U-S Safety Trolley
Span-Guard Corporation has purchased the former U-S Safety Trolley range from LeGrand Corporation. It will now be known as the Span-Guard conductor bar.
Span-Guard is in the process of setting up a new shop in Tioga, Pennsylvania and will be taking orders as of October 1, 2023.
Richard Warriner, vice president at Span-Guard, said: “Span-Guard [U-S Safety Trolley] was the first continuous, joint-free electric conductor bar.
“It is uniquely designed with no electric joints in the solid copper conductor. The flexible, fully enclosed, insulated cover provides the most reliable, highest quality conductor system on the market.”
The joint-less conductor is ideal for cranes, hoists, and moving equipment where problems and downtime cannot be tolerated. There are also fewer parts to repair or replace, and the system requires minimal maintenance.
The solid copper conductors (with cover) are shipped pre-assembled on a reel and come in 250 and 520 amp sizes. The spring-loaded collectors, meanwhile, come in 100, 200, 300 and 400 amp sizes. Stainless steel is optional.
The system is capable of running joint-free at up to 2,000 feet. Span-Guard eliminates the power loss and overheating associated with the unreliable electrical joints of certain other heavy industrial power systems.
“Span-Guard is perfect for industrial / manufacturing environments, lock and dam installations, crane electrification, steel mills, and paper mills,” added Warriner.
