Trade Association Shares Straightpoint Video
The Associated Wire Rope Fabricators (AWRF), a trade association representing the manufacture, distribution and use of lifting, rigging and load securement devices made of chain, rope, and synthetic products, has circulated an interview with Straightpoint Inc. director David Ayling.
The video was recorded at AWRF’s recent Product Information Exhibition in St. Louis, Missouri where the force measurement, load monitoring and suspended weighing load cell specialist generated widespread interest in its range of products.
At the start of the video, Ayling makes a point of picking up the manufacturer’s new Radiolink Plus wireless tension load cell to demonstrate the dimensions and light weight of the unit. He alerts viewers to a number of product enhancements, including removal of the corners to reduce weight and make it easier to fit into a fixture; the new internal chassis, which has allowed Straightpoint to increase waterproof rating; and extended battery life to 1,200 hours. He also talks about the multi-functional handheld display and again demonstrates the product’s user-friendliness and light weight.
Ayling said: “One of the key components of our success is getting our products in front of potential or existing distributors and end users so they can see and feel the equipment. Only when people get their hands on a product like the Radiolink Plus do they really appreciate its benefits and capabilities. That’s why we take our products with us everywhere we have a presence.”
The same concept is at the heart of the AWRF video, which provides a visual reference to the products for potential users who might not have had first hand experience with the company’s load cells and other lifting components.
Ayling said: “The first thing people say is how light but well-made and durable the unit feels. I think the video captures that in a way that isn’t always possible with a still image, for example; we hope the video penetrates the end-user community with that overarching message. The experience actually made me think about adding to our video material to give people who embrace this kind of media a full Straightpoint portfolio experience.”
AWRF is circulating the video alongside those featuring a number of other quality manufacturers and service providers, further demonstrating how load cells fit with lifting and rigging processes, particularly in relation to dynamic load monitoring. Ayling anticipates that being aligned with his industry peers and being promoted by a high profile, respected trade association will increase the video’s outreach and add weight to its impact.
“We’re honored to associate ourselves with AWRF and are hugely appreciative that they took the time to make this video. The recent Product Information Exhibition was a massive success for us; it’s one of the highlights of our trade show calendar and an event we wouldn’t even consider missing. We met with existing distributors and had quality visitors to our booth from as far afield as Japan, China, Russia and Africa. The event is very good at attracting the industry’s leaders from rigging shops and other decision makers that represent a great fit with our products.”
