Westfalia Wins 4th Green Supply Chain Award
Westfalia Technologies Inc., a provider of logistics solutions for plants, warehouses and distribution centers, has won its fourth consecutive Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
Westfalia has been recognized for promoting sustainability through its “Go Green with High Density” warehouse automation solutions that enable clients to minimize their building footprint, lower energy usage and reduce waste production.
Dan Labell, president, Westfalia Technologies, said: “Since our founding in 1992, Westfalia has been committed to helping manufacturers and distributors apply innovative technologies like our automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), to improve operational efficiency while minimizing their environmental impact.”
The Green Supply Chain Award recognizes companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.
This year’s 10th-annual awards recognize small, mid-size and large enterprises that leveraged green practices and solutions to further drive sustainable improvements in their supply chain.
“Honorees for this year’s award demonstrate that corporate social responsibility is a business imperative that transcends the company and extends throughout the supply chain, involving suppliers and customers,” said John R. Yuva, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “The number of entries only increase year over year, demonstrating how critical sustainability initiatives are within companies.”
“We congratulate this year’s honorees for their commitment to sustainability and recognize their tremendous achievements,” Yuva added. “Our honorees serve as role models for supply chains globally to expand their CSR reach and impact.”
