Networking and Education to Feature at AWRF Spring Meeting
Associated Wire Rope Fabricators (AWRF) will stage its Spring General Meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells, 12-15 April, 2015.
AWRF promotes interests common among companies manufacturing, fabricating, or distributing lifting, rigging and load securement devices made of chain, rope, and synthetic products.
The association works to establish, acquire, preserve, and disseminate various technical information, and encourages the development of safety standards and programs, and product identification procedures.
The event starts on Sunday 12 April where a board of directors meeting and registration precedes a first timers reception and official opening reception later that evening. Additional networking and educational events take place over the course of the next three days.
This year’s spring meeting will feature a variety of speakers and presentations including “Rigging Job of the Year” by Delynn Burkhalter, president of Burkhalter Construction; and “Cost Effective Excellence is NOT Dropping Loads” by Michael Gelskey, of Lift-It Manufacturing.
Other papers will be delivered by Tom Eicher, of the Caldwell Group, who will present on below-the-hook devices; and John Groce P.E., of WireCo WorldGroup, whose presentation is titled “Evaluating Bends, Wave, Kinks and Helical Deformations in Crane Wire Ropes.”
