Straightpoint Grows U.S. Team with Technical Sales Engineer in Texas
Straightpoint Inc. has named former Bishop Lifting Products Inc. and Certex USA employee Aaron Orsak, technical sales engineer. Orsak will be based in Houston and will cover the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama regions.
The acquisition represents the continued growth of the North American subsidiary of the force measurement, load monitoring and suspended weighing load cell manufacturer, having moved to new U.S. headquarters in Camarillo, California late last year. John Molidor, the general manager of the U.S. operation, and additional staff work at the firm’s second Camarillo home having relocated from nearby Ventura three years earlier.
Orsak, who has worked with Straightpoint products since 2008, said: “It is a big challenge but I see it as an enormous opportunity. There is so much that can be achieved with our products to help the industries in this region. I’m looking forward to educating and training the current markets we serve and learn how we can further assist them, whilst penetrating industries where we are yet to introduce our products or are making early inroads.”
“The oil and gas industry is the major player on the Gulf Coast,” Orsak continued. “The growth potential in this industry alone could be a game changer for Straightpoint. However, while the oil and gas market will drive us towards the growth we’re looking for, we will certainly not overlook the other industries available to us—stevedoring, construction and manufacturing, for example.”
Orsak pointed to the breadth of potential offered by the states he will oversee as the deciding factor in joining Straightpoint. He said: “It’s never an easy decision to change the focus of your career but I knew Straightpoint was a great company with an outstanding product line and looking at the potential for growth in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama certainly made that decision easier.”
Straightpoint director David Ayling said: “We are very excited to have Aaron on board. The nature of our industry’s supply chain means we can introduce people to the business who already have an intrinsic understanding of the marketplace and our products.”
This summer will represent the completion of a decade in the lifting industry for Orsak, incorporating a variety of roles from inside sales and branch manager at Bishop to operations manager at Certex in Houston.
He said: “I was always involved in sales and key account management, while inventory control and shop personnel management have been constants throughout. My roles have presented the opportunity to work with David Ayling and Straightpoint for a number of years; we called on key accounts in Houston together, including NASA.”
Orsak concluded: “The expertise that David and John Molidor have, not only in the functionality of our products but also in the application of these products, is invaluable to me. They are a wealth of knowledge that will be a benchmark for my success in this exciting new role.”
