HBC-radiomatic Inc. Opens New Satellite Office to Serve Gulf Coast

Remote control manufacturer HBC-radiomatic Inc. has opened an office in Houston, Texas to better serve its growing customer base in the oil and gas sector and other important Gulf Coast markets.

HBC-radiomatic Inc. has been headquartered at a purpose-built factory in Hebron, Kentucky, conveniently located near Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, since 2008 but existing and prospective customers in the Houston area have benefitted from greater local support since the company’s first satellite office was opened at the turn of the year.

Jeff Allan, CEO, HBC-radiomatic Inc., said: “Our goal is to ensure that we continuously take steps to improve our local capacity and our ability to support the activities of our customers. Given that the Gulf region has been an important area for us for some time, establishing a direct presence in Houston was a logical development. In regard to local inventory, our focus is simply customer-oriented. If customers require local inventory, this request will also be supported.”

Gulf Coast customers are served by Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager, Adam Banks, who joined the company last year, bringing nearly two decades of experience working with radio remote control solutions and an in-depth knowledge of the specific requirements of the oil and gas industry.

Allan said: “We have a number of important customers and partners in the region but of course oil and gas, coupled with related industries, form a significant part of this business. Adam is well positioned to serve our existing customers, while his expertise and intrinsic understanding of this sector can help us execute our growth strategy in this exciting market.”

Banks continues to receive widespread interest in the manufacturer’s explosion proof radio remote controls, due to the inherent hazards associated with the oil and gas market. HBC-radiomatic is committed to ongoing investment in a variety of control solutions tailored to this sector to add to the products that are already certified to NEC500/NEC505 standards.

Allan said: “As a global company with a comprehensive range of technologies and international resources, we are able to provide radio modules and frequencies for almost every international location, approved to those local regulations.”

For example, he explained, HBC-radiomatic is able to offer, NEC, Atex and IECEx (related to explosive atmospheres) for customers who need to service North American, European and International applications. In addition to the explosion proof standards, HBC-radiomatic’s broad offering of options and features ensures that it is able to provide solutions optimized to the needs of the market.

The new Houston facility, located close to the Tomball Parkway near the northwest corner of Beltway 8, will be integral to HBC-radiomatic’s continued growth in North America. Allan said: “Business remains healthy across the board in the United States. While some areas showed weakness at the start of 2015, including oil and gas, generally HBC-radiomatic has realized persistent growth in all segments for a number of years. In addition to the growth of the markets themselves, we also see an increased adoption of radio controls for new applications as customers continue to see increased advantages with the shift from tethered to wireless controls.”
