AEDF Recognizes Hudson Falls School
The AED Foundation (AEDF) has awarded recognition to WSWHE BOCES – Southern Adirondack Education Center, located in Hudson Falls, New York.
“We are pleased that Southern Adirondack Education Center has chosen to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement through the process of recognition,” said Jason Blake, The AED Foundation’s Executive Vice President and COO. “AEDF high school recognition signifies to equipment industry stakeholders that a school has achieved a level of excellence.”
The recognition is the 16th high school AEDF recognized across North America. Recognition ensures that schools are exceeding industry expectations via AEDF’s standards. To become recognized, high schools must teach to display competency in one or two of the Foundation’s six core competencies, including electrical/electronics, HVAC, hydrostatics/hydraulics, powertrains, diesel engines and safety/administration. These core competencies are covered in length at AEDF’s accredited college programs, the next step for students who graduate from a recognized program.
The Foundation is off to a promising start in 2021 as AEDF works to achieve its Vision 2025 goal of recognizing 50 high schools. Vision 2025 plans to increase the number of qualified industry technicians entering the workforce, starting at the high school level. Students who attend an AEDF recognized high school can transition to an AEDF accredited college program to become certified technicians. AEDF’s programs meet industry standards and allow dealerships to know they are hiring exceptionally trained technicians.
The AED Foundation is committed to developing and improving equipment distribution industry partnerships that meet the mutual needs of local dealers, manufacturers, technical colleges, and high schools.
