CeMAT Asia Welcomes North American Participation
North American product suppliers were among exhibitors at CeMAT Asia, which closed on 3 November 2017, notching up record levels of exhibitor and visitor participation over four action-packed show days.
This year’s showcase at Shanghai’s SNIEC exhibition center featured 619 exhibitors (as compared with 475 in 2016) from 21 nations and attracted 98,742 visitors. All up, it was another sterling performance for Asia’s leading intralogistics show.
CeMAT Asia 2017 occupied some 60,000 sq m (645,800 sq. ft.) of display space, up from 52,000 (559,700) in 2016, and featured smart industrial trucks, collaborative robots and integrated logistics systems from manufacturers from all around the world.
“This year’s CeMAT Asia was an absolute record-breaker in terms of exhibitor and visitor participation and presented the latest high-tech Logistics 4.0 applications in a dynamically growing market,” commented Marc Siemering, Senior Vice President Industry, Energy, Logistics at Deutsche Messe AG.
The exhibitor list included leading robot manufacturers like ABB, FANUK and KUKA, plus virtually all of the world’s top names in integrated logistics systems, including Swisslog, Dematic, SSI Schäfer, TGW and Vanderlande, to name but a few. The highlights included industrial trucks and accessories by such manufacturers as Hangcha BYD, Vita-Wheel, Noblift, Ningbo Ruyi, Weichai and Cascade.
This year’s exhibitors were very satisfied with the show, with the majority indicating intentions to return next year. Visitors to this year’s show once again benefited from a highly informative and rich program of supporting events, featuring many exciting examples of current best practice from such diverse areas as the automotive industry, fashion logistics, packaging equipment, medical technology, mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery and shipbuilding.
The first edition of APEX Asia was organized parallel to CeMAT Asia with a resounding success. It is the largest single concentration of powered access equipment ever assembled in China.
James King, Managing Director of KHL Group, said: “A fast growing market needs an exhibition that brings buyers and suppliers together, and that is exactly what APEX Asia did. Holding APEX Asia alongside an established, successful show like CeMAT Asia also exposes access equipment to a very broad and large audience. It is a formula that worked and we were delighted with the first show.”
APEX Asia is likely to be held alongside CeMAT Asia every two years, so next taking place in late 2019.
The next CeMAT ASIA will be held from 6 to 9 November 2018 in Shanghai, China.
