Landmark Two Days for ITI
During a two-day period last month (23-24 June), Industrial Training International (ITI) instructors delivered crane, rigging and load handling knowledge to three different continents, four countries and in a variety of formats.
ITI trainers delivered sessions in:
- Singapore
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Edmonton, Alberta
- Various locations around the United States
ITI instructor/consultant Richard Marcotte represented the company at the LEEA Lifting & Rigging Conference Asia 2015. Marcotte delivered a Critical Lift Plan Workshop to 100+ attendees at the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium.
The session was greeted with much fanfare, as student attendees were lead through the workshop, which included calculations, load charts interpretations, and best practices. Students walked away with a workbook, as well as select panels of ITI field reference cards, for future reference and use.
Marcotte said: “Presenting at the LEEA conference in Singapore was first of all a tremendous honor, and second of all a hugely rewarding experience. The attendees were extremely receptive and obviously hungry for knowledge when it comes to cranes, rigging and load handling. I hope I am able to return for future training opportunities.”
ITI Latin America managing director Fernando Ferraz and Instructor Alberto Rocha contributed to a conference hosted by Petrobras in Brazil, by delivering a technical seminar focusing on training and professional certification programs in Brazil and then comparing those to requirements in the United States.
Ferraz said: “We are very proud that leading organizations in Brazil look to ITI as the subject matter experts when it comes to crane, rigging and load handling operations.”
Meanwhile, ITI staged a workshop in Edmonton. The two-day event featured instruction based on ITI curriculum, as well as industry and region specific instruction for special guest presenters. This event marks the third year in a row ITI has held a workshop in Edmonton, with plans already underway for 2016.
