Magnetek to Exhibit Material Handling Solutions at AISTech 2017
Magnetek, a supplier of digital power and motion control systems for the material handling industry, will be displaying its broad range of crane control products at the 2017 AISTech Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition being held in Nashville, Tenn., May 8-11, at Music City Center.
Visitors to Magnetek’s booth (1229) will have an opportunity to view selected variable frequency drives, heavy-duty brakes, radio remote controls, and power delivery products. Additionally, Magnetek will be exhibiting their new cable reel product line and a hands-on IMPULSE VG+ drive demo that demonstrates specialty features including Load Summing, Anti Shock, Hoist Synchronization, Weight Measurement II, and advanced system diagnostics.
“Magnetek offers unmatched application expertise and one-stop sourcing for material handling control solutions that improve system throughput, save energy, and increase safety,” said Casey Cummins, Magnetek’s product manager for controls. “Visitors to our exhibit can experience hands-on demonstrations to see and feel how we can improve their material handling systems.”
Attendees will be able to operate the new hands-on hoist demo that showcases many of Magnetek’s crane control safety and productivity features. The demo will feature the Company’s new custom Weight Measurement System drive software, consisting of both Load Summing and Weight Measurement II functions.
These new features allow multiple hoists to measure the load on each hook without a load cell, add the weights together, and prevent an additive overload of the crane structure. Individual or additive weights can be displayed on a scoreboard or stored in a PLC. Hoist Synchronization, which allows for multiple hoists to be operated in tandem with precision down to a fraction of an inch, will also be showcased. Operation and diagnostic information is displayed on an interactive HMI touch-screen, unlocking a virtually unlimited potential for monitoring drives on a wired or wireless network.
Finally, Magnetek’s new cable reel product line provides a superior solution to effectively and compactly manage large lengths of cable to power cranes, hoists, and a variety of below the hook devices, including rotating bottom blocks, grabs, and magnets.
Product specialists will be on hand to answer questions, demonstrate products, and discuss project solutions.
