MHI Donates $25k to Youth Robotics
MHI reinforced its commitment to STEM education by pledging $25,000 to support five youth robotic teams in North Carolina.
The donation follows the organization’s participation in the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition North Carolina Mecklenburg County District Event, where several MHI employees served as judges and volunteers. This event celebrates STEM, innovation, and teamwork, inspiring the next generation of engineers and problem-solvers.

MHI is proud to support the future of STEM and looks forward to seeing these bright minds continue to innovate.
The competition’s ocean theme—REEFSCAPE—encouraged teams to design and build pioneering robotic solutions that promote marine conservation and advance undersea exploration. By integrating science, technology, and engineering principles, students were tasked with tackling complex real-world problems, pushing the boundaries of their imagination and technical expertise.
Moved by the ingenuity and dedication of these young innovators, MHI committed a $25,000 donation to support five talented teams, each receiving $5,000:
- Team 9005, Avian Robotics – Sponsored by East Mecklenburg Senior High School, Charlotte, NC
- Team 9298, Greenies – Sponsored by Christ School, Arden, NC
- Team 9559, EagleTron – Sponsored by SHIELD Mentor Program, High Point, NC
- Team 10077, The H.E.I.S.T – Sponsored by their families and community, Huntersville, NC
- Team 10107, ThunderBirdz – Sponsored by Google & Cox Mill High School, Concord, NC
Congratulations to all participants in the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition North Carolina Mecklenburg District Event.
