MHI Publishes Pallet Lifting White Paper
MHI has released a new white paper on pallet lifting. Titled, “A Lesson in Standards and Physics Applied to Pallet Lifting”, the paper was co-written by Pat Davis of MHI and Ralph Rupert of Millwood Inc.
The paper brings up the issue of lifting so-called “small pallets” or half- and quarter-pallets using fork trucks. Small pallets create an opportunity for retailers, but they are not without their challenges, including safe load handling, for those in material handling.
Half and quarter pallets present a challenge because they can only be moved with a single forklift tine, but physics and ANSI standards provide the answers to safe small pallet handling.
Solutions for safely moving small pallets with a fork truck using physics are outlined in the paper. To read the full white paper, click here.
