MHI Recognizes Individuals
During the recent 2024 MHI Annual Conference, MHI celebrated individuals who are making significant contributions to the supply chain industry.
MHI’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) awarded Kaushal Shah the Outstanding YPN Mentor award for consistently offering guidance and nurturing upcoming talent in our industry. Shah serves as a Global Engineering Manager with Intralox.
The organization also recognized this year’s YPN Outstanding Young Professional Award recipient Bethany Patterson, Marketing Manager at Viastore, for her impactful work in our industry.
The Material Handling Education Foundation (MHEFI), a nonprofit that provides financial support to engage and retain talent in the material handling, logistics, and supply chain industry, also awarded an impressive professional. Jim Crews, Vice President of Engineering at UNARCO, received the MHEFI Exceptional Contribution Award.
In addition to serving at UNARCO for over 30 years, Crews also served as Chair of the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI) Engineering Committee, as well as Chair of the AISI CF022 Stability and Combined Actions Committee on Specifications. Crew’s recent contributions to RMI include incorporating Direct Analysis Method into the RMI Specification, tailoring redundancy and overstrength factors to storage rack applications, and application of test data to model cold formed bracing connections to posts in response to seismic forces. Additionally, Jim has prepared storage rack calculation examples based on the latest code provisions, which will be made publicly available for aspiring rack engineers.
Commenting on the achievements of the awardees, John Paxton, CEO of MHI, stated, “Strong leadership is essential to the supply chain’s success. The dedication and expertise of our award recipients set a standard for all professionals in our industry. MHI is proud to recognize their leadership and commitment to excellence.”
