NACB Raises Profile of Lifting & Load Handling Training Expo
Every year, North American Crane Bureau Inc. (NACB) chooses a group of honored guest speakers for the Lifting & Load Handling Training Expo, part of its Professional Development Conference series. The four-day interactive training event and expo will take place 17-20 October 2016 at the Orlando Marriott, Lake Mary, Florida.
Presentations give industry a perspective that can only be attained through each expert’s unique experiences within the crane and hoist industry. Attendees from all over the globe will attend this year from a wide variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, mining, aerospace, military / defense, utilities, maritime, railroad and general industry.
Seminars will cover rigging, inspector training, load charts, lift planning, ground support and current regulations pertaining to mobile cranes, overhead cranes, hoist systems, aerial work platforms, lift trucks, and other lifting equipment. Sessions are given in variable settings and NACB promises instructors will be available to answer questions at the end of each one.
Scheduled speakers include:
- Greg Sizemore, vice president, HSE and workforce development, Associated Builders & Contractors—Washington, D.C., who will give the keynote address titled, ‘ABC’s Vision of the Future, and the Use of Industry Indicators to Effect a Safer Workplace’.
- Danny Bishop, corporate director of training for The Crosby Group LLC, will lead Crosby Jeopardy, which will test attendees’ knowledge of fundamental rigging concepts.
- Dean McKenzie from OSHA’s Directorate of Construction Safety will give an update about OSHA.
- Lance Burney, president of Sigalarm, will present, ‘Power Line Safety-Distance, Voltage, and Proximity’.
- Steve Greene, vice president of NCCER, will deliver a talk titled, ‘Operator Certification Programs & Skills Needs’.
- Theadore Blanton Sr., president and CEO of North American Crane Bureau Group Inc., will give an update about ASME B30 volumes.
- Monty Chisolm, rigging superintendent operation trainer at Bechtel Equipment Operations, will speak about guidelines to tagline use.
