Creform Batch Cart
Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of products for material handling and commercial use, has designed and built a small batch cart for a building products manufacturer that features a large-angled shelf for panel storage on one side that holds the panels securely for in plant transfer. The vertical storage also makes finding the right length easy.
A horizontal shelf at the back provides a space to store boxed items and components such as production consumable supplies like hardware. The cart is suitable for either manufacturing or warehouse use and can be used for kitting or small batch production.
It features four 6 in. dia. casters with urethane wheels for easy, stable and safe movement with a separate floor lock integrated into the base to hold cart in place. The wheels lend themselves to moving the structure for housekeeping and/or repositioning. The cart is also ideal for kitting with easy transport to point of use and temporary storage of all the parts needed for a job. When the need arises, two of the casters feature brakes that can be engaged for secure positioning.
The cart, built with clamp together metal joints for easy changes or repairs, is 60″ L x 40″ W x 70″ T and is designed to hold up to 750 lb. It is built with all ESD (anti-static) components to manage static for user comfort.
Further, options can include feet, rather than wheels for stationary operations and the cart can be outfitted with a hitch for towing by a Creform AGV Tugger unit to make the cart part of an AGV-supported kitting system. Creform carts are available as an assembled structure or kit with pre-cut pipe for quick, on-site assembly and complete DIY solution.
As with all Creform carts, higher load capacities, custom sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm, 32 mm and 42 mm plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints.
A wide variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV or tugger delivery. Accessories include hooks, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, pockets for paperwork, writing surface with clip boards just to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution.
The Creform system is used to create an array of material handling and efficiency enhancing devices and is a proven component in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs. The company partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
