Creform Kitting Cart
Creform Corporation has built a kitting cart with single slanted sides and four levels of pegs that can be used to support longer items as well as to hang smaller items. The cart is built with Creform’s unique 42mm pipe/joint components for high capacity and industrial durability.
The cart was designed to assist in production efficiency, reduce product damage and to support lean manufacturing initiatives. The easy to reconfigure cart was specifically designed to hold production parts as well as tooling. It has an A-frame design with canted side that makes loading/unloading easier and keeps the load centered on the cart for stability. It also features three horizontal shelves that can be accessed from the back side of the cart. Each shelf features a ½” HDPE bottom for added product protection.
The open design of the cart makes all positions and shelves visible which enhances inventory management and efficient part selection, as well as providing the user with ability to see through the structure that further enhances safety when the cart is moved. By configuring the cart, the modular design allows the user to add only the accessories they need.
Each cart is built tough to handle the rigors of a production environment. In this application the cart is filled in the warehouse area and moved directly to installation point on the production floor.
- The cart shown has overall dimensions of 78″ L x 34″ W x 66″ H and comes with six large diameter swivel casters with 4 in. wheels. The cart shown can hold up to 600 lb.
As with all Creform carts, higher load capacities, custom sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm, 32 mm and 42 mm plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints.
A wide variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV or tugger delivery. Accessories include hooks, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, pockets for paperwork, writing surface with clip boards just to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution.
The Creform system is used to create an array of material handling and efficiency enhancing devices and is a proven component in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs. The company partners with customers in developing and implementing these programs.
