Principles of Web Handling and Winding Seminars
A three-day seminar titled, ‘Principles of Web Handling and Winding’ will take place from 28 February to 2 March 2017 in Santa Ana, California.
The seminar, hosted by instructor Tim Walker, provides a full understanding of key converting fundamentals, covering the materials, equipment, and process factor knowledge to solve any web handling or winding problem.
Web handling topics such as tension control, web position control, and wrinkle prevention will be covered in detail followed by the physics and process of winding, roll quality, and winder design, control and operations.
The seminar also provides the knowledge needed to diagnose and treat existing issues or develop the specifications for new webs. The principles taught in the seminar are applicable to any web-based product whether paper, film, metals, non-wovens or textiles, with an emphasis on practical problem solving techniques.
Tim Walker is an internationally recognized expert and consultant in web handling and winding processes and president of TJWalker and Associates Inc. He specializes in design, development, and education for handling and winding web products, helping many clients in their development of thinner, wider, faster, more precise, or more integrated processing.
The course will also be held in Birmingham, UK, on 23-25 May 2017.
