Trelleborg Buys Aerospace Company

Trelleborg Group has, through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, signed an agreement to acquire an operation from the U.S.-based privately owned 4M Company Inc.

• The operation specializes in sealing solutions for aerospace and industrial applications.

The group’s head office and manufacturing are located in Tukwila, Washington, US, and it has annual sales of approximately $8.2m.

This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive industries.

Trelleborg Group has, through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, signed an agreement to acquire an operation from the U.S.-based privately owned 4M Company Inc.

“We are experiencing strong demand for aerospace seals with a continued positive trend for several years to come. The acquisition means we can increase our capacity to produce elastomers, used in various aerospace seals, and enables us to broaden our product range of, for example, conductive seals,” said Peter Hahn, president of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area.

• The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2023.
