Vanderlande Showcases Video-Based Technical Support Device

Automated material handling systems provider Vanderlande will showcase its hands-free EYE4U real-time, video-based technical support device in booth 2041 at ProMat, which takes place at Chicago’s McCormick Place, 23-26 March.

The wearable system includes:

  • A high-quality video camera with D1 PAL resolution of 720 x 576 pixels that can be worn in a choice of positions, including head piece or lapel clip
  • A shock, dust and waterproof recorder that captures video at 25 frames-per-second and stores up to 32GB of data
  • A two-way communication transmitter/receiver connectable via 3G, 4G or WiFi
  • A remote control that enables live streaming and tagging of video images
  • A lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) battery, rechargeable via USB, that powers the system for up to 9 hours of recordable video

When installed at a customer facility as an optional add-on to Vanderlande’s 24/7 hotline and help desk support services, the EYE4U system allows a company’s in-house service technician to broadcast live, real-time video to a Vanderlande expert.

Transmissions are sent via secure internet connection and enable faster troubleshooting of automated material handling systems and components without requiring an expensive, in-person service call.

In addition to the EYE4U system, the Vanderlande booth will focus on a selection of integrated systems the company has engineered to address the specific needs of facilities handling large numbers of unique SKUs—in excess of 10,000— with a diverse mix of both high and low throughput velocities.

Featured are operations using goods-to-person picking solutions for order fulfillment to minimize operator travel time and eliminate pick errors. These automated systems deliver the required SKUs to a designated location, and prompt the operator to select the appropriate number of items.

Vanderlande’s subject matter experts will be available to discuss specific warehousing challenges, as well as the company’s post-installation service offerings at ProMat.
